Traveling to North San Diego County
If you are traveling from out of town to the wedding, thank you so much for making the trip! To get here we recommend you fly into either San Diego International Airport (SAN) or John Wayne Airport (SNA). Both airports are about a 1 hour drive (traffic permitting) to North San Diego County. If you are flying from the Tampa area (Jonathan's home town), we recommend you fly Alaska Airlines since they are the only airline with a daily non-stop flight from TPA to SAN.
Southern California is renown for its traffic. Please expect to experience some traffic on the way from the airport to where ever you choose to stay, or anytime you get on a freeway. The drive from John Wayne Airport through Camp Pendleton can backup significantly (60+ minutes), especially on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, so plan accordingly.
Why not LAX? LAX is currently under construction to support increased demand for the future 2028 LA Olympics. It is currently a nightmare to get in and out of. Flights to LAX will probably be less expensive and have more direct flights that SAN or SNA, but you will spend 3 to 5 hours trying to get out of LAX and LA itself.
Where to stay?
The wedding venue is located in Fallbrook, CA. Fallbrook CA is a gorgeous small town tucked away in the coastal valleys of North San Diego County. Because Fallbrook is a small town, it doesn't have many hotel or AirBnB options. We recommend guests stay along the coast in any of the northern beach towns, which are only a 20 to 45 minute drive to the wedding venue.
~ Carlsbad, CA ~
Carlsbad is Jonathan and Kristina's favorite Northern San Diego County beach town. It has some of the best restaurants in the county and a thriving downtown village with lots of shops. The beaches are also spectacular and this is usually where you can find Jonathan and Kristina parked on a hot summer beach day. If you decide to stay in Carlsbad, we recommend these spots:

~ Encinitas, CA ~
Encinitas is a small beach town with a lot of charm, great restaurants, and beaches. If you decide to stay here, we recommend you stay in an AirBnB to experience the small beach town vibes!
~ Oceanside, CA ~
Oceanside is where Jonathan and Kristina call home! Oceanside has a unique blend small bench vibes and military town heritage. Oceanside isn't as tourist friendly as Encinitas or Carlsbad, but it does have the best Gelato and Mexican food (in our opinion) in North County. If you decide to stay here we recommend these spots:
